Timer W. Sokol, 64. of 3215 S. Main, died at 8:32 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Hospital after an illness of one year. He, was retired from the Gentner Centner Packing Co. Born on Oct. 18, 1913, in South Bend, he had lived here all his life. On Sept. 4, 1937, in South Bend, he married Laura Korlowicz, who survivies. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Norma Swipalski of South Bend; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Pacay of South Bend; a stepsister, Mrs. Irene Fershin of Santa Anna, Calif.; three brothers, Elmer and John of South Bend and Alex of Indianapolis, and a stepbrother, Carl Benko of Flint Mich. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church with Msg. John S. Szabo, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at, the Guisinger Colonial Chapel where a rosary will be receited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by the Legion of Mary. Sokol was a member of the Eagles and the Calvert Rod and Gun Club.Published in the South Bend Tribune; Friday, Nov. 4, 1977 p 19.
