[N10018] Grandsons Death Fatal to Aged Women

Six weeks after the tragic death of her grandson, which caused a relapse in her condition. Mrs Anna Wentland aged 69, died early today at her home at 220 South Laurel Street. Her Grandson, Capt. John Wentland of Hose Company number 1 was drowned near Fort Russell WY. His death resulted in Mrs Wentlands serious Illness. She grew gradually worse until death, which was due to Cancer occured early this morning. Mrs Wentland was born in Polish Germany and came to South Bend in 1882 with her husband MichaelWentland who died several years ago. The following children survive Frank Wentland, Felix Wentland, John Wentland, captain of No 1 Hose Company, Stephen Wentland, Konstanty Wentland,and Josephine Andrysiak all of South Bend and Michael M Wentland stationed at the Army recruiting office in Grand Rapids MI. The funeral will be held at 9:00 am Thursday from St Hedwig Church, Rev Czyzewski CSC officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Polish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the Grandchildren of Mrs Wentland
