Dorothy Borlik
Jan. 6, 1925 - July 4, 2013
SOUTH BEND - On July 4, 2013, Dorothy's beloved Angels came to take her home. She was born Dorothy Patricia on January 6, 1925, in South Bend, to Joseph and Clara (Piechocki) Mikolajczak. Dorothy was a graduate of Central Catholic and a beautician when she met the love of her life, Stanley Borlik, who survives. Stan and Dorothy were married on September 1, 1951, in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. Surviving children are Linda LaFortune of Mishawaka, Peggy (Fred) Chwalek of Charlotte, NC, Robert (Donna) Borlik of Walkerton, Mark (Gail) Borlik of South Bend, Marry (Alberto Valez) Borlik of LaQuinta, CA, and Annie (Barney Howard) Borlik of Summerville, SC. Dorothy is also survived by a sister, Loretta (Gene) Klimek, and was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Michael, and son, Timothy Borlik. Dorothy has 14 grandchildren who will miss her dearly, Jennifer (Jim) Hetrick, Jamie Hartzke, Jeff LaFortune, Justin LaFortune, Justyna Chwalek, Damian Chwalek, Patryck Chwalek, Doc Borlik, Jacy Borlik, Dori Borlik, Mason (Audrey) Borlik, Patrick Borlik, Tate Borlik and Joshua Borlik; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Hartzke, William Hartzke, Devon LaFortune and "Baby Bump" Borlik. Dorothy was lovingly called "Busia" by everyone in the family. Her home was welcoming at all times with plenty of food and laughter at the table. Dorothy had a passion for floral gardening; her gardens were absolutely stunning to see in the summer. She could transform a seemingly hopeless plant back to the beauty God intended. Dorothy was a devout Catholic and is now in the arms of the Lord. God Bless Her! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 11:00 am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the Mass at the church. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend, IN 46628; or to the donor's choice. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
