Katherine "Kate" Louise Mrozinski, 91, of La Porte, Indiana , passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Brentwood Assisted Living in LaPorte, Indiana. She was born August 1, 1926 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of John Sacks and Lillie (Wothke) Sacks. Katherine worked at the Metal Door and Trim factory for a few years and then worked at the Whirlpool Corporation for 35 years until she retired in 1986. In her retirement years she enjoyed playing solitaire on her computer and also enjoyed sending and receiving E-mails from her many friends. Katherine was a lifelong member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ and was a member of the Women's Guild serving as the Guilds treasurer. She also liked helping out at church fund raisers and special events at the church. She was also a member of the "Whirlpool retirees group". On June 19, 1948, in La Porte, Indiana, she married Joseph Mrozinski who preceded in death May 1, 2001. She is survived by her Sister, Phyllis Bayer of La Porte, IN and many nieces and nephews. Katherine was preceded in death by her four brothers, Delbert Sacks, Wilfred Sacks, John Sacks, Norman Sacks; three sisters, Gladys Reed, Irene Sharkey, Leota Karras. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, November 7, 2017, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Katherine Louise Mrozinski.
