Frank was born on September 22, 1930 and passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Frank was a resident of South Bend, Indiana at the time of his passing. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart. Family and friends may call from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, with services being.conducted at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps League or Army / Navy.

Frank Gus Lako Jr., 79 passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 in his residence. Frank was born on September 22, 1930 in South Bend to Frank and Irene (Sigety) Lako Sr.. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart. Gus also belonged to the Marine Corps League, Army / Navy, VFW, and the DAV. He retired from Masterbilt and had also been employed by Koontz Wagner. Surviving are his daughter Sharon (Jack) Ladonski of South Bend; two grandchildren Amanda Ann Stoll and Robert James Robaska Jr.; a great-granddaughter Makenzi; 5 sisters Betty (Tom) Buti of Vandalia, MI, Mary Lako of Mishawaka, Veronica (Bill) Rose, Linda (Ron) Brown and Chris (Mike) Dobrzykowski all of South Bend; 3 brothers Steve Lako and Michael (Kay) Lako both of South Bend and Gordon Balsley of Cassopolis, Mi. Gus was preceded in death by a brother Paul Lako. Family and friends may call from 2-6 Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, with services being.conducted at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps League or Army / Navy.
