Modest T. Sciba
Dec. 21, 1927 - March 30, 2006
Modest T. "Tom" Sciba, 78, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006, in his home. Tom was born on December 21, 1927, to Frank J. and Stella Sciba. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 28 years of service. Surviving is a friend, Shirley Flock of South Bend, and nephews. A brother, Bernard Sciba preceded him in death in December of 2005. Tom was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, the German Club, an army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #9820. He was also an avid bowler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, in St. Casimir Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana 46628.
