SOUTH BEND, IN - Frank P. Shula, Jr., 85, of South Bend, IN, died peacefully at his residence on November 14, 2017. He was born June 6, 1932 in South Bend, IN to Frank and Francis Shula. After graduating from Niles High School, Niles, MI, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1952; serving his country for 4 years and receiving an honorable discharge. His last duty assignment was the USS Tidewater. After leaving the Navy, Frank spent several years in sales and is best known for his association with Shula's Nite Club & Bowling Alley located in Niles, MI. Most people were unaware of the fact he also owned Shula's Nite Club in Dania, FL in the early 1970's and The Capri Motel in Ft. Lauderdale, FL for most of the 1980's. He was preceded in death by his parents and his constant companion of many years, Angela Janice Schock. Frank is survived by two sons, Frank Shula of New Carlisle, Matt Shula of Michigan City, IN and one daughter, Vicki Shula, of FL. He will be missed by all those who cared for him , especially his dog Boo. There will be no memorial service and cremation will take place with interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn or Firefly Home Care, LLC, Middlebury, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S.
