Mrs Josephine Rejder Sobczak, aged 85, died today, at 7:20 A.M., in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecilia Szulczyk, 420 S. Jackson Street, after several weeks illness. Born in Poland on April 20, 1853, she came to South Bend, 65 years ago. Survivors include three sons, Stanley and William Rejder and Joseph Sobczak. Her three surviving daughters are Mrs. Catherine Paczesny, Mrs. Cecilia Szulczyk and Irene Kajzer. She was the mother of ten. Friends will be received at the home of her son, Joseph Sobczak, 1044 W. Dunham Street. The funeral mass was celebrated at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, with Rev Francis X. Luzny, C.S.C., Pastor, officiating. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Sobczak was a member of the Women's Apostleship of Prayer and the Women's Holy Rosary Sodality of St. Hedwig's Church. South Bend Tribune, 4/25/1935
