Margaret was born on June 7, 1909 in the village of Nikitsch, province of Burgenland, in Austria to John and Rosalie (Buczolich) Fleischaker. She immigrated to the United States with her brother Josef, and landed in Ellis Island in July of 1930. She eventually made her way to South Bend.
