SOUTH BEND - John L. Hollenbach, 89, of South Bend, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. John was born June 12, 1923, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to the late Rev. John and Emma Hollenbach. He was also preceded in death by five brothers. On May 18, 1946, in Rochester, New York, John married Elsa (Vieregge), who survives. He is also survived by a son, Larry Hollenbach of South Bend; daughter, Cherie (Jim) Myers, of Lapel, IN;, two granddaughters, Jennifer (Sean) Connolly of Noblesville, IN, Amy (Rev. Anthony) Stone of Summitville, IN; and six great-grandchildren. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired in 1985 from G.E. as a salesman of medical x-ray equipment. He had taught the techniques of taking x-rays to technicians in various parts of the country. John was a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Bend.
