ELKHART - Louis P. Fodroczi, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Elkhart to Peter and Elizabeth (Magyery) Fodroczi.

He first married Arlene Alwine. He later married Judith Hayden on Feb. 2, 1979, in Elkhart.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; five daughters, Karen (Gene) Berg and Kimi Fodroczi, both of Queen Creek, Ariz., Kristi Williams of Mesa, Ariz., Kathy (Dean) Smoyer of Show Low, Ariz., and Kolene Saboe of Phoenix; four stepchildren, Dawnn (Terry) Myers of Elkhart, Tad (Charity) Hayden of Phoenix, Karyn (David) Hoots of Bristol and Matt (Lori) Hayden of Union, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Louis served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired after 42 years from CTS Corp. He also was part-owner of the Silver Star Christmas Tree Farm for 35 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bristol.

He loved to fish and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame fan. After his retirement he played senior softball for 16 years and won five national championships.

Visitation for Louis will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a..m Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at St. Mary's Church. Father Bob VanKempen will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Vincent's Cemetery.
