FORT WAYNE, IN - William E. “Bill” Poure, Sr., 91, of Fort Wayne passed away on Dec. 7, 2020 at Parkview Hospice Hospital. Bill was born in South Bend on Oct. 22, 1929. He was the son of the late Harold and Wanda Poure. Bill graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1948 and attended Indiana University. He was an Army Paratrooper Veteran of the Korean conflict. He worked for Uniroyal in Mishawaka and Philadelphia, and retired from General Alum & Chemical Corporation in Toledo. Bill was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and ushered for many years. Bill enjoyed playing golf, bridge, reading, sports, but most of all he loved being with his family. Go Irish! Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen (Ganser) Poure; children, Elizabeth (James) Pund of Huntertown and William E. Poure, Jr. of Orlando; grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Lee of Fort Wayne, Nicholas Pund of Huntertown, Ashley and William Poure III of Orlando; and great-grandchildren, Abram and Sullivan Lee of Fort Wayne. Bill is also survived by a brother, James (Barbara) Poure of Toledo. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Thomas Poure. A private service for the family will be held. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or Parkview Hospice.
