GRANGER - Cathy A. Kopinski, 72, of Granger, IN, passed away following a sudden and unexpected illness, at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. Born March 7th, 1945, to the late Arthur and Loretta (Kitkowski) Wojciechowski, she was a lifelong area resident. Cathy was preceded in death by three brothers, William, David and Darryl, and her former husband, Joseph Kopinski. A 1963 graduate of Washington High School, Cathy enjoyed not only raising her family, but an extended twenty-two-year career at the offices of Dr. B.J. Kim, where she served as Financial Manager and Insurance Specialist. She retired in 2008. A woman blessed with devoted family and friends, Cathy enjoyed concerts, theatre, and social gatherings with those dear to her. Lively and fun - loving, Cathy lived a full life. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten. Cathy is survived by two daughters, Cherie A. (Andrew E.) VanLaere of Granger, IN, Carole A. Kopinski of Granger, IN; one son, Chad T. (Scott R. Pettit) Kopinski of Aurora, IL; two grandchildren, Ashley N. (Alan Davidson) VanLaere of Elkhart, IN, Brianna N. VanLaere of Granger, IN; one great-grandchild, Haven R. VanLaere of Granger, IN; three sisters, Carolyn (Thomas) Haluda of South Bend, IN, Patricia (Robert) Zakrocki of Granger, IN, and Suellen (John) Firtl of Granger, IN; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
