Owen Edward Hatfield, 66, of 1350 N College St. was dead on arrival in Memorial Hospital at 2:40 pm. Saturday of an apparent heart attack. He was an employee of the O'Brien Corp. for 33 years and retired last year. He was born Nov. 28, 1902 in Kosciusko County. His widow, the former Irene Bartkowiak, survives, along with his mother, Mrs. Oral Hatfield of Burkett; a son, Arthur J. Piasecki of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. June Simon of Grovertown, and Mrs. Joan Newman of Niles; four grandchildren; four brothers, Eugene, Elvie, Jessie and Virgil Hatfield, all of Warsaw; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Witham of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Ines Scott, Mrs. Dorothy Clark, Mrs. Evelyn Hyde, all of Warsaw, and Mrs. Pearl Cerlesi of Mishawaka. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Monday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home where services will be at 9 am Tuesday. Rev. William J. Neidhart, C.S.C., paster of Holy Cross Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery. He was financial secretary of the Fraternal Order of Police Associates.
Owen is the son of Burton "Burt" Pontice Hatfield & Aurel Elizabeth Secor.

Owen married wife #1. Marie Shoemaker. They had the following children:
