SOUTH BEND - Helen Kuzmits, aged 97, passed away in Scottsdale, AZ on February 4th. She was born in South Bend, IN and lived most of her life there with her husband, Frank M. Kuzmits (deceased 1985) and raised 4 children. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. In her later years she loved to travel and she experienced many adventures, from river rafting in the Grand Canyon to river boating on the Amazon. An avid learner into her 90's, she attended IUSB as well as Forever Learning classes. She was never afraid to express her opinion and was a frequent contributor to The Voice of the People. She was fond of playing bridge with her friends and attending her book club. She loved rooting for Notre Dame football with her best friend, Nan Behre and a gin and tonic. She was smart, funny, tireless, stubborn, and did all her crossword puzzles in ink. She will be missed by her children, Pat Antonick, Frank E. Kuzmits, Linda Bergh and Lisa Dziuk, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held at a future date. Published in South Bend Tribune from Feb. 13 to Feb. 19, 2017
