SOUTH BEND - Jerome J. Badur, 78, of South Bend, passed away on Monday in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend. He was born on March 12, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Aloysius and Henrietta (Kazmirski) Badur. On June 8, 1957 he married Barbara M. Kalicki, who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Deborah Ulch of Port Orange, FL; his sons, Dennis (Michele) and Daniel Badur, both of South Bend; four grandchildren, Samantha McClanahan and Kara, Kasie and Kelden Badur; four great-grandchildren, Ranelle Cox, Alexander McClanahan, Serenity and Sincere Dillard; two other little ones that also called him Dzia Dzia, Alayah Dillard and Lilly Simon; his sister, Patricia Deranek of South Bend; sister-in-law, Patricia Badur; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Esther) Kalicki; and several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Badur in 2011. Jerry was a Fireman for the South Bend Fire Department for 37 years and German Twp. for 25 years, before retiring on June 3, 1997. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, South Bend; a United States Naval Reservist and a graduate of South Bend Catholic in 1953. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Indiana Firefighters Association and an Alumni member of International Association of Firefighters. Jerry's life was surrounded with family, fishing, hunting, gardening and selling his vegetables while sitting on the golf cart napping. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Friday May 10, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday, May 11, 2013, in St. John the Baptist Church, 3526 St. John's Way, South Bend. Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
