Joseph “Paul” Carrico, age 90, died suddenly at home in Chicago, Illinois, Wednesday November 24, 2021. Paul was born the son of Francis Richard Carrico and Sarah Anna (Osborn) on May 25.1931 in South Bend, Indiana. He entered the seminary and graduated from the University of Notre Dame at South. Bend. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1958. He went to graduate school and lectured at New York University. He also lived in New York, Washington DC, but called Chicago Home. He taught at Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Niles Illinois for many years where he shared his love of film with many students. He also taught at Loyola University. After retirement from teaching he worked for many years with the Red Cross. He married Rebecca Bermas on June 17,1997. She survives him. Paul is survived by sisters Frances Rebecca Wayman, Rita Ann Merrill of South Bend, Indiana and Linda Sue Delahanty of West Branch, Michigan. He was preceded in death by brothers Louis Gerald Carrico, James Leon Carrico and sister Mary Louise Botkins. He leaves behind an abundance of nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial mass on March 19th at St. Pius X Catholic Church 52553 Fir Rd. Visitation will be held at 2:15 PM with mass at 3:00 PM.
