LAPORTE - Robert A. Molnar, 79, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at 8:45 pm in his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am CDT, Monday, July 27, 2015, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, with Dr. Lance Hilberg officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm CDT Sunday and from 10:00 am CDT until time of service on Monday at the Ott/ Haverstock Funeral Chapel. He was born June 7, 1936, in South Bend, IN, to the late Alec and Rose (Pajak) Molnar. On May 4, 1968, in Michigan City, IN, he married Norma J. George, who preceded him on October 27, 2004. Surviving are two sons, Ben (Rebecca Pliske) Andrzejewski of Highlands Ranch, CO, and John (Stephanie) Andrzejewski of Arvada, CO; daughter, Liz (Thomas Zaleske) Piechnik of Crown Point, IN; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Troy, Andrew, Christopher, Ashley and Zachary Andrzejewski, all of CO; sister, Shirley Gapinski of Noblesville, IN; brother, Donald (Dianne) Molnar of South Bend, IN; and his beloved friend, Brett Krockover of Denver, CO. Robert retired from Sullair Corp. and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had a passion for his family and was an avid sports fan, being a lifetime follower of the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Cardinals, Wisconsin Badgers, and his alma mater, South Bend Washington. Robert had a passion, knowledge and appreciation for all genres of music.
