Jim Connors, 66 of Niles, MI passed away on Friday February 18, 2022, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend after a brief illness. Jim was born November 29, 1955, in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Lois (O’Halloran) Connors, both who preceded him in death. He was raised in South Bend, IN and is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1974. He graduated with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts from Northwood Institute, West Baden, IN and a Bachelor in General Studies from Indiana University, South Bend. On August 24, 1985, he married Bonnie (Hull) in Terre Haute, Indiana. Jim is survived by his wife Bonnie, of Niles, MI; sons Jim (Tina) of Auburn, IN, Michael (Meagan) of Fremont, IN and Kevin Kohl (Cheri) of El Cerrito, CA; sister Kathy (TJ) Hambidge, Newburgh, IN; brothers Tim Connors, South Bend, IN; and David (Chris) Connors, South Bend, IN; grandchildren Emmett, Ashlynn, Rylee, and Olivia Connors; 8 nieces & nephews and 8 great nieces & nephews. Jim was a machinist, most recently at Attco Machine Products. He was a past president of Northwest Little League and a cheer coach at Buchanan High School. He loved coaching and attending the many sports activities in which his sons participated. A man with a heart of gold and welcoming spirit, Jim was famous for his made-to-order omelets created for the many family and friends who came to whatever kitchen he was cooking in. He simply asked that you stay with him and visit while he cooked. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago White Sox and loved attending games with his long-time friends. Jim was happiest surrounded by his family and friends. His greatest joys were his wife Bonnie, raising his sons, and spending time with his grandchildren. His warmth and love taught many how to be great individuals; his memory will live on in those life lessons to all who were blessed by his company.
