NILES, MI - Jack LaVerne Kujawa, 82 years old, of Barron Lake, Niles, passed to his rest Dec. 7, 2020 at his home after an illness. He was born Dec. 26, 1937 in South Bend and has lived in the Michiana area all of his life. He spent over 23 years as a machinist for Clark Equipment in Buchanan. Jack was an avid hunter, motorcycle racer, and snowmobiler. He loved his U of M football feam, NASCAR, and fishing. Jack was married March 28, 1958 in Niles to Shirley Ann Bolinger, and she survives with their two children, Pamela Ann Putnam of Cassopolis and Dale Wayne (Judy) Kujawa, Sr. of South Bend. There are four grandsons, Don Putnam, Michael (Melissa) Putnam, Dale W. Kujawa, Jr., and Dustin Kujawa; and five great-granddaughters, Sarah, Kimberly, Chelsea, Clare, and Alexia. He has two half brothers, Nils (Carla) Lamberson of South Bend and Wayne E. Lamberson of Lapaz. Family who preceded him in passing are his mother, Sarah Kujawa-Schilling and his stepfather, James Schilling. Family and friends are invited to share time and space (limited to 10 persons at a time, face masks are required) on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main Street, Edwardsburg. There will be a “Private” prayer service on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, then a procession to the Adamsville Cemetery where family and friends will gather for a graveside service led by Father Jenkins of St. Mark Catholic Church, Niles. He will be placed in the cemetery on the Bolinger grave lot, near the Reed Family graves, who are relatives of Shirley. Arrangements are by the Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
