South Bend - William E. Stockton, 78, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021. Bill was born January 9, 1943 in South Bend to Erlin “Bud” and June (Quist) Stockton. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Bud & June, his daughter, Pati, and a grandson, Bradley. Left to cherish the memory of Bill is his Significant Other of 36 years, Dorothy Grzeskowiak (nee Tafelski); along with his 2 children, Pam (Dave) Harris, Bill (Lorie) Stockton; 2 grandchildren, Todd (Courtney) Deutscher, Brittnay Sudlow; brother, Gerald (Marilyn) Stockton; sister, Judie (Charlie) Meal; nephew, Jerry Stockton; many cousins; and extended family, Ed Tafelski, Henrietta Tafelski, Bernice (Jim) Niemasik, Debbie (Rolando) Hernandez, Paula Balderas, Jill Mejer, Kevin (Bethany) Grzeskowiak, and Jeff (Melody) Grzeskowiak. Bill worked for Bendix/Honeywell for many years until retiring. After retiring, he worked as maintenance for Morris Park Country Club. Bill was a member of Bowlers Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, and old TV shows. You could find Bill and Dorothy every Saturday at CJ's Pub with a bucket of Coor's Light. Bill also enjoyed traveling to Casino's with Dorothy, and watching her grandchildren, Tori & Blake (Bill’s buddy), who are going to miss him dearly. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 7 South at Memorial Hospital and a special thanks to Jalyn for her extra care and support and to Jeff Grzeskowiak for the numerous medical trips to Indy. Per Bill’s wishes, no services will be held. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
