SOUTH BEND, IN - Mary Ann (Vitzer) Pozsgai, 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of South Bend, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021. She was born on June 8, 1930 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Gabriel and Julia (Pikulik) Vitzer. On February 1, 1958, she married Eugene Pozsgai who preceded her in death on July 18, 2000. Mary Ann is survived by one son, Michael A. Pozsgai of Indianapolis, Indiana, two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Alexandra Pozsgai; two sisters, Grace Lee of South Bend, Indiana and Barbara Lingus of Michigan City, Indiana, and 13 nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was also preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Shebel, and one brother, Arthur Vitzer. Mary Ann was a United States Navy Veteran during the Korean War. She loved to garden, especially vegetables and flowers. She would always share her harvest with others. She was an excellent cook and created many feasts and banquets for family and friends. She enjoyed decorating cakes which she always made for her family. She was a wonderful seamstress. She made many blankets over the years. A visitation will take place on January 29, 2021 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
