SOUTH BEND - Julia Rokop, 95, passed away at 4:00 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2016, in Caring Junction. Julia was born on January 1, 1921, in South Bend, to Alex and Elizabeth (Doktor) Uyhelji. On February 23, 1946, in South Bend, she married Louis J. Rokop. He died on March 26, 2005. Julia was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Name and Helen Hutzel, and 2 brothers, Alex Uyhelji and Michael Uyhelji. Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (Chris) Holdaas of Port Orchard, WA; 2 grandchildren, Julie Cousey and David Bickel; 2 great-grandchildren, Ashley Dean and Tyler Dean; and a sister, Susie Pecsi. Funeral services will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 31, 2016, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will take place at a later dater at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 11:00 am until services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice or Memorial Presbyterian Church.
