Renata T. Maciejewski, 91, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022. She was born on October 20, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Theodore and Stella (Tobolski) Urbanski. On September 16, 1950 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she married Jack E. Maciejewski who preceded her in death on October 16, 2020. Renata is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Hancz of Mishawaka, Indiana; two sons, James (Sue) Maciejewski of Riverview, Florida, Richard (Mary) Maciejewski of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Hall, Matthew (Karla) Maciejewski, Lauren Maciejewski and Kyle Maciejewski; two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Brody Maciejewski; two step great-grandchildren, Briana Nannet and Megan Moore, one great-great grandchild, James. She is also survived by her lifelong friend since kindergarten Geraldine Tobolski. Renata was preceded in death by one son in law, Michael Hancz, two sisters, Amata Lindell and Eugenia Harley, two brothers, Emery and Dominic Urbanski. Renata and Jack were married for 71 years. She had worked at 1st Source bank for over forty years. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Holy Family Catholic Church, and 1st Source Women’s Club. A visitation will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 in Holy Family Catholic Church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am in the church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Comfort One Hospice in Renata’s honor. 65th Wedding Anniversary
Jack and Renata Maciejewski were married on September 16, 1950. They have three children, Kathleen (Michael) Hancz, James (Sue) Maciejewski, and Richard (Mary) Maciejewski, four grandchildren, David (Jennifer) Hall, Matthew (Karla) Maciejewski, Lauren and Kyle Maciejewski, and four great grandchildren, Brody Maciejewski and Trinity Mallote, Brianna and Megan Moore. Jack retired from the South Bend Community School Corporation and Renata retired from the 1stSource Bank. Mr. & Mrs Maciejewski will celebrate their 65th Wedding Anniversary by renewing their vows during a Celebratory Mass followed by a family dinner.
