Richard M. Bognar, Sr., of Niles, MI, passed away on Monday February 8, 2021 at Brentwood at Niles Senior Living. He was born on January 9, 1933, in South Bend, to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Pallo) Bognar. On October 25, 1958, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend, he married Dolores Filchak, who survives. He is also survived by his son, Richard M. "Rick" (Amy) Bognar of South Bend, his daughter, Pam (Steven) Leszczynski of Noblesville, IN; four grandchildren, Jill (Zach) Cress, Eric Leszczynski and Grant and Kaley Bognar; and by two great-grandchildren, Grant and Noah Cress. Mr. Bognar worked as a Draftsman for AEP for 44 years, before retiring. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday February 12, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 309 S. Taylor St., South Bend, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. To send online condolences, please visit www.kaniewski.com.
