[N7951] BUCHANAN -- Carl J. Simko, 43, of Buchanan died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with the Rev. Canon Marian M. Kencik of Saint Mary Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Berrien Center. Friends may call from 2 t o 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson Foundation or Saint Mary Catholic Church. Mr. Simko was born April 14, 1958, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Joseph and Margaret M. (Karacson) Simko. He had lived in Buchanan for 20 years, coming from Berrien Center. He was employed at Lakeland Hospital, Niles on A-2 as a registered nurse. Mr. Simko received his RN Degree at Lake Michigan College in May of 1993. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Anne (Bagarus) Simko, whom he married on May 25, 1997, in Plymouth, Ind. He is also survived by a daughter, Danielle E. Simko of the home; parents, Joseph and Margaret Simko of Berrien Center; brothers -- Michael Simko and Frank (Barbara) Simko, both of Berrien Center; sister, Mary (Chad) Hines of Berrien Springs; aunt, Elsie Vogel of Indianapolis; uncle, Steve (Lillyan) Simko of Berrien Center; and 10 cousins.
