ELKHART - William S. Slimak, 68, of Elkhart, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 12:06 pm in the Emergency Room of Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. Slimak was born on Oct. 22, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late William W. and Irene (Olszewski) Slimak. On July 26, 1969, in Western Springs, Illinois, he married Nancy Landrum, who survives in Elkhart. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Perkin Elmer after many years of service. He was a active board member with the March of Dimes . Surviving along with his wife is one son, Christopher Slimak, of Warsaw; one grandson, Zachary Slimak, also of Warsaw and one brother, Patrick Slimak of Bartlett, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Thomas Slimak and one sister, Kathleen Slimak. In honoring Mr. Slimak's wishes and request cremation will take place.
