. Ex-Businessman Once Owned 2 Stores -

Stanley Bednarek, 1222 N. lowa St., lifetime resident and former businessman of South Bend, died at 11 pm Friday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of three days. . Bednarek was the former owner of Stanley's Hardware, 923 Lincoln Way W., and Buczynski's Department store on Western Ave. At the time of his death he was employed by the City Water Works. He was born in South Bend in 1910 and is survived by his widow, Sarah; a daughter, Mrs. Lois Widmar, and four sisters. Mrs. Mary Niezgodski, Mrs. Selma Michor, Mrs. Frances Gadacz and Mrs. Lillian Rybicki, all of South Bend. The St. Joseph Funeral Home is handling arrangements, Bednarek was a member of the West Side Democratic and Civic Club.
