SOUTH BEND - Ronald "Pete" Audenaert, 69, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday June 25, 2009, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on December 10, 1939, to the late Peter and Clara (Markiewicz) Audenaert and lived in the area most of his life. Ronald retired in 2003 from the Torrington Company, where he was employed for 42 years. On November 18, 1961, he married Lorraine Grayzck, who survives. Along with his loving wife of 47 years, he is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Helton; his son, Kenneth (Diane) Audenaert, both of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Justin and Nicholas Audenaert and Molly and Maxwell Helton; and by a brother, Robert Audenaert of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Jasisnski, on June 8, 2009. Ronald was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Married Men's Club, and was a United States Army peacetime veteran. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday June 28, 2009, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, in St. Casimir Church, with entombment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
