Duane A. Dicus, 82 years old, Plymouth, passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Duane was born on March 24, 1940 in St. Joseph County to the late Arthur and Mary C. (Sells) Dicus. On March 5, 1960 in Lakeville, Duane and Donna L. Smith were united in marriage. They just celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his passing. Duane served in the Army Reserves and was a member of American Legion Post 363, Lakeville. He was self-employed in farming. Duane loved coon hunting, fishing and classic country music. He always looked forward to the Autumn Oaks Coon Hunter event on Labor Day weekend, where he would go with his good friend, Mike Levy. uane will be greatly missed by his wife, Donna of Plymouth; three children: son, David (Kris) Dicus of Lakeville; daughter, Rhonda (Raymond) Doss of Warsaw; son, Mark Dicus of Plymouth; grandchildren, Alexie, David, and Dillon (Alyssa) Dicus, Nathaniel “ Bub” Doss, and Brittany and Emily Dicus; and four great grandchildren. Duane is also survived by his sister, Vera (Don) Whisman. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Danny; two grandsons, Daniel Dicus and Brandon “Buzz” Dicus; and his sister, Louise (Bob) Dubala. At Duane’s request, there will be no services. Palmer Funeral Home in Lakeville is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations to be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 620 W. Edison Road, Unit 122, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
