MISHAWAKA - Maurice “Muzz” Mynsberge, 95, passed away on Wednesday, January 03, 2018 at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. Maurice was born on March 5, 1922 in South Bend to Charles and Anna (Gillis) Mynsberge. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Alphonse Mynsberge; sisters, Irene Glassford and Lorraine Freese and a great grandchild, Rowan Williams. On August 3, 1946 he married Marion Hoorinks. Marion survives along with daughter, Carolyn (Donald) Holmes; sons, Michael (Debra Wesolek-Mynsberge) Mynsberge and Jeffrey Mynsberge all of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, Tara and Aaron Holmes, Dana Shell, Justin, Peter, Laura and Joel Mynsberge; three great grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Shell and Homer Williams and brothers, Richard Mynsberge of Mishawaka and George Mynsberge of Flint, MI. Also surviving are his former daughters-in-law, Michele Mynsberge and Gina Mynsberge and his very special caregiver, Staci Hendricks. Maurice was a decorated Navy Veteran. He was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka, the BK Club and was a lifetime member of the VFW. Maurice worked as a Plant Manager for Elixir Industries and retired in 1985. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 7 from 2 to 5 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 8 at 1 p.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
