From the SOUTH BEND TRIBUNE, August 29, 1960, page 22:

Mrs. Mary Jurek, widow of former South Bend Fire Department Capt. Ladislaus Jurek, died Friday night in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Scora, in Chicago, where she had been residing. She had been ill three weeks.Born in Poznan, Poland, on May 29, 1881, Mrs. Jurek lived in South Bend until nine years ago when her husband died and she moved to Chicago. Surviving besides Mrs. Scora are three other daughters, Mrs. Harriet Pukrop, Mrs. Marie Janik and Mrs. Dorothy Zilinski, all of South Bend; two sons, Julius and Chester, both of South Bend; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grand children; four sisters, Mrs. Antoinette Jackowiak of Niles, sister M. Ageta, C.S.C., of Hammond, and Mrs. Bernice Fisher and Mrs, Frances Baker both of Mishawaka; and a brother, Andrew Sieradzi [sic. Sieradzki], of South Bend. She was also a member of Group 713, CPRA, of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church.
