May 7, 1930 - Jan. 9, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Jeanne Marie McDonough was born in Malta, Montana on May 7th, 1930. She was the only child of James and Carrilee (Swanson) McDonough. She moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1941 and married Stan J. Chelminiak on September 9, 1950. She was the loving and proud Mother of 5 children and 9 grandchildren, daughter Sandra M. Seanor and her husband John of South Bend, Indiana; daughter Janet L. Podell, her husband George and their 5 children: Thomas, Chris, Lori, Jasmine and Gabriella; son Steve Chelminiak, his wife Teresa and their son, Joziah of Honokaa, Hawaii; daughter Susan M. Edington, her husband Andy Edington, who preceded her in death, and their 3 children: Sam, Bethany and Abigail of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; and daughter Stacy Chelminiak of South Bend, Indiana who knew her as her "Best Friend". Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. On January 24, 1978, her husband Stan preceded her in death. She married Roland Hall on August 16, 1980 who preceded her in death. Jeanne's working career began at Notre Dame Bookstore where she worked for four years. Her employment with Valley American Bank lasted 16 years until her retirement in 1996. Jeanne will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a happy person, with a strong spirit that allowed her to triumph through life's challenges and cherish life's blessings. She had a special connection with God. Jeanne's crystal blue eyes radiated the beauty of her soul. Her passing.... as her Life was filled with Light and has brought those who loved her closer together, her spirit and love will be with us always. We love you Mom / Grandma.
