Herbert F. Kurzhal 76 of 1905 Randolph, died at 1: a.m. Sunday in his residence after a lengthy illness. He was, retired from the Studebaker Corp. He was born on Jan. 13, 1901, in South Bend and lived here all his life. On Oct. 22, 1922, in South Bend, he married Alma Tetzlaff. She survives with three daughters, Mrs. James Pellow of South Bend, Mrs. Jack Morehouse of Toledo, Iowa, and Mrs. Richard Haskins of Lakeville; a son, Ralph of Valparaiso; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Crowe and Mrs. George Glaser, both of South Bend., and four brothers, Paul, Elmer and Harry, all of South Bend and Arthur of Dowagiac. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ.Rev. Max B. Hayden, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home, 336 N. Main. Kurzhall was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Cancer Society. Published in the South Bend Tribune; Monday, Jan. 9, 1978.
