Ben Frankiewicz, 81, of Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, Ind., formerly of West Donald Street, South Bend, Ind., died Sunday morning, March 6, in Miller's Merry Manor.

Ben retired in 1970 as a chemical specialist for 16 years with the Federal Milk Administration and a field representative for 11 years with AMPI (Association of Milk Producers Inc.).

Ben was born on March 20, 1923, in South Bend, to Nick and Stella (Wozniak) Frankiewicz, who preceded him in death along with a sister, Joan Jaroszewski; and a brother, Roman.

On Oct. 17, 1953, in South Bend, Ben married Helen Harvard, who died Oct. 5, 1988.

Surviving is a son, Rick Frankiewicz of South Bend; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, in the HICKEY Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until services Tuesday in the funeral home.

Ben was a member of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, VFW Post 360, A.A.R.P., United Commercial Travelers and a World War II Navy veteran.
