SOUTH BEND - Robert L. "Bob" Pozzi, 78, of South Bend, passed away Wednesday morning, August 22, 2012, in Hospice House, South Bend. Bob was born September 25, 1933 in Mishawaka, a son of the late John and Frances (Kearney) Pozzi. Bob graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1951 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1955. He served his country in the US Army from 1955 - 1957. Bob was employed at the Kawneer Company and South Bend Lathe where he was a purchasing manager. After retirement he spent many hours at Eberhart Petro Golf Course in Mishawaka and worked in their Pro Shop. Bob was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in South Bend. His love of golf was only matched by his love of cooking and his grandchildren. Bob married Jeanette R. Baranowski in St. Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka on August 11, 1956. Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette; five children, Barbara Pozzi of South Bend, David Pozzi of South Bend, Michael (Karen) Pozzi of Granger, Susan (John) Bonadies of Champaign, IL and Diane (Richard) Stanley of Granger; two brothers, Richard Pozzi of Mishawaka and Ronald (Sandee) Pozzi of Tucson, AZ; and ten grandchildren, Kevin, Tim, Arneal, Allyson, Samantha, Anthony, Andrew, Justin, Cory and Hannah. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12:30 pm in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend, with Rev. David Ruppert officiating.
