SOUTH BEND - Mary I. Roegiers, 95, passed away at 11:07 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013, after an extended illness. Mary was born March 14, 1917, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Harriet (Maj) Zmyslo. In June 1963 Mary married Edward Roegiers, who preceded her in death in 1983. Mary was also preceded in death by brothers, Steve, Matt and Edwin Zmyslo, and by a sister, Stella LaCava. Survivors of Mary include sisters, Ann Zmyslo, Eleanor Zielinski, Jean Kalmar, all of South Bend, and brother, Harry (Lottie) Zmyslo of Stevensville, MI. Mary was employed with the Bendix Corporation for many years, and she was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Mary was a member of the ZB Falcon and MR Falcon. Mary enjoyed bowling and won many trophies and patches. She also loved traveling, walking and yard work. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Healthwin Specialized Care. Visitation for Mary will be 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
