SOUTH BEND - Margaret M. Conner, 92, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 in Briarcliff Rehabilitation. Margaret was born October 7, 1923 in South Bend to the late Ignatious and Antoinette (Wall) Mankowski. On July 11, 1942 in Neosho, Missouri Margaret married Kenneth Conner Sr. who preceded her in death on May 4, 1992. Margaret is also preceded in death by sisters, Cecelia, Adeline and Florence; and brothers, Harry, Raymond, Joseph and Alex Mankowski. Survivors of Margaret include her children, David Conner, Terry (Sherry) Conner, Kenneth (Judy) Conner; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Gertrude Odle. Margaret was a member of the Westside Church of Christ. She was employed with Sears for 13 years and retired in 1984. Margaret enjoyed being outdoors, feeding birds, and fishing. She was a great cook, who organized family cookouts and gatherings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Briarcliff Rehab and Southern Care Hospice for the care shown to their mom. Visitation for Margaret will be 3-5pm, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service being held at 5pm.
