Andrea J. “Andi” Nichols, 89, of South Bend, IN (formerly of Michigan City, IN) passed away at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was born on October 24, 1933 to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Orlowski) DeRosia in Michigan City, IN, and has lived in South Bend since 2003. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Nichols; and her sisters. Andi retired on May 5, 2012 from Ameriprise Financial in Niles, MI, where she worked as an Office Manager. Prior to that, she worked at Osco Drugstore and Sears Department Store, both in Michigan City, IN. On April 21, 1956, as Andrea J. DeRosia, she married Charles M. Nichols in Michigan City, IN. Charles passed away on May 1, 1996. Andi is survived by her daughter, Michelle M. (Donald) Pellegrini of Zeeland, MI; her son, Kent C. (Connie) Nichols of South Bend, IN; and her four grandchildren, Alex Nichols, Zachary Pellegrini, Travis Nichols, and Nicole Pellegrini. Andi was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Parish in South Bend, IN. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted friend to many. Her hobbies included ceramics, scrapbooking, and painting. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 226 N. Hill Street, South Bend, IN, with Rev. Matt Fase, C.S.C. officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Caring Cove Hospice, 3120 N.
