[N5400] Neal McCammon, 94, of Mooresville, formerly of Greensburg, passed away on January 6, 2011. He was born on February 20, 1916 in Letts, IN the son of John and Carrie (Parker) McCammon. Neal was a 1934 graduate of Letts High School and a 1938 graduate of Indiana University. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Neal married Helen Taylor on April 24, 1946 in Greensburg. He retired as Manager at Bohn Engine and Foundry in 1978 after 27 years. Neal was a member of the VFW, Greensburg Country Club, an original organizer of Youth Baseball in Greensburg helping to build the 2 North diamonds and had served on the Board of Directors for Decatur County YMCA. Survivors include: Wife- Helen McCammon of Mooresville, Daughter- Ann (Jess) Peters of Plainfield, Son- Steve McCammon of Greenville, SC, Sister- Joan (Fred) Domrow of Ft. Wayne, and Brother Leon (Martha) McCammon of Greensburg, 4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: Parents, an Infant Son, Brothers- Milo McCammon, Harold McCammon, and Sister- Doris Waymire.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Monday, January 10, 2011 from 12 noon until the time of the Funeral at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Jimmy Moore will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Francis Hospital.
