CASSOPOLIS - Daniel M. Minnix Sr., 59, passed to his rest on Saturday
in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. His illness was of short duration. He
was born Nov. 28, 1949, in Warsaw, IN, the son of Noah H. and Mildred
Mae Minnix. He had lived in the Michiana area the past 41 years. Dan was the owner, with his wife Linda, of Minland Machines, a tool-and-die company. He was married in 1967 in Edwardsburg to Linda D. Maxwell, and she survives. Other survivors are their children, Valerie (Frank) Pompa of Corpus Christi, TX, and Daniel Minnix Jr. of Union. There are three grandchildren; his stepfather survives, John Vance of Dowagiac; his father-in-law, Kenny and Pam Maxwell of Edwardsburg; and sister-in-law, Patty (Kenny) Strickland of Edwardsburg; two brothers-in-law, Gary (Laura) Maxwell of Edwardsburg and Kenny (Shelly) Maxwell of Granger. There are 14 nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. There are family who have passed: his mother, Mildred Vance, and his mother-in-law, Betty Maxwell. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main (US-12) in Edwardsburg. The
service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hope United Methodist Church (Multi-Purpose Room), 69941 Elkhart Road. Officiating will be Rev. David Waid, pastor of Dailey Missionary Church. Burial will follow at Adamsville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the services on Wednesday in the church. Dan was blessed with the ability and talent to work with his hands. He was a tool & die machinist, enjoyed building and constructing things, and doing work on the computer. Most of all he loved his grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews. He has a soft spot in his heart for children and young people. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Cass County Cancer Services, P.O.
