MICHIGAN CITY - The funeral for Mrs. Hilda Freida Lucille Janowski, 82, of Michigan City, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Walter Kelly officiating. She died Friday, March 14, 2003, at 3:15 p.m. at her home. Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Home and Community Services (Hospice). She was born March 2, 1921, in Milbank, S.D., to Otto and Augusta (Wellnitz) Dietzmann. Mrs. Janowski retired from Gateway Industries in Michigan City. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Michigan City and Women of the Moose Auxiliary 935. On Jan. 8, 1949, in LaPorte, she married Robert L. Janowski, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Cynthia Schoof of LaPorte; one son, Victor Newell of South Bend; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Emma Ulrich and Darlene Dietzmann, both of Michigan City. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Dietzmann and Viola Murdock; and one brother, Telo Dietzmann.
