NILES - F. Alice Drada, 92, of Mishawaka, formerly of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Caring Junction in Mishawaka. She was born to the late John T. and Frances A. (Odor) Killelea on March 5, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana. On August 30, 1947, Alice married Ed at a ceremony in South Bend. Alice took great pleasure in gardening and yard work, but she absolutely loved traveling with Ed, where they were able to visit all 50 states together. She was also a faithful member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles, serving not only during funeral luncheons but also assisting her husband with his Eucharist ministry. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, John Killelea. Alice is survived by her nephew, Patrick (Yolanda) Syson of San Antonio, Texas; a niece, Melissa (Rudy) Navarro of El Paso, Texas; as well as many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Hobert) Syson; and many friends, like family, to cherish her memory.A time of visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Niles on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018 at St. Mark Catholic Church, with Father Thomas King, C.S.C. and Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C. officiating. An interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Alice's memory to St. Mark Catholic Church, 3 North 19th Street, Niles, Michigan 49120. Drada 60th

NILES -- Alice and Edward Drada of Niles will celebrate their 60th anniversary Sunday through Sept. 9 with an Alaskan cruise. Edward Drada and Alice Killelea married Aug. 30, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend. Mr. Drada retired as a chef after 12 years with Granger Tap & Grill Inc. Mrs. Drada retired from Seeley's Boot Shop, South Bend, and the former Hudson's Department Store, Mishawaka. Niles residents for more than 50 years, they lived in South Bend for 21 years.
