SOUTH BEND - David J. Michaud, 81, passed away at 4:31 pm Friday, November 23, 2012, in Memorial Hospital. On July 25, 1968, David married Alice Genchoff, who survives along with his children, Tina Crockwell, Terri Clegg, Sharon Ward, David and Frank Michaud; stepchildren, Betty Stone, Janet Lowe and Nancy Rozmarynowski; grandchildren, Pam (Joe) Hayton, Lenny (Patti) Genchoff, Donna (Chris) Thielka, Bill Lowe, Stacy Rozmarynowski, Amber, Roxanne, Tracy, Taylor, Kaleb, Jamie, Paul & Franklin; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Ty, Joey, Tyler and Abigal; brother, Smokey (Vernon) Michaud; sisters, Ellen Rimmel, Lorraine Olson, Rosemary Faurean.He also was preceded in death by grandson, Tyler. David served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was employed with Verslers Wheelchair and the Golf Car Company; he also was a supervisor for Steel Mills. He loved to build things, woodworking, traveling to Florida with his wife, and gambling at the Blue Chip. He was a loving father, grandfather & great-grandfather to all his children. David will be greatly missed, and we all love him deeply. Visitation for David will be held 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, November 27, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana 46637.
