SOUTH BEND - Albert W. Skarbek, 84, passed away Tuesday. On August 2, 1946, he married Lillian Rose (Bartkowiak), who survives along with their eight children, Glenn (Beckie) Skarbek, Norbert Skarbek, Diana (Ron) Blosser, Karen Harness, Agnes (Dan) Todd, Ann (Kevin) Jackman, Michael (Michelle) Skarbek and Denise (Jim) Skarbek. Visitation will be from 4-8 Sunday in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

SOUTH BEND - Albert W. Skarbek, 84, passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 in his residence. Albert was born on November 28, 1926 in East Pittsburgh, PA to Anthony and Josephine (Jamrosy) Skarbek. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony; grandson, Jamie Skarbek, son-in-law, Kyle Harness; brother, Raymond Skarbek; and by his granddaughter, Dawn Skarbek. On August 2, 1947, he married Lillian Rose (Bartkowiak), she survives along with their eight children, Glenn (Beckie) Skarbek, Norbert Skarbek, Diana (Ron) Blosser, Karen Harness, Agnes (Dan) Todd, Ann (Kevin) Jackman, Michael (Michelle) Skarbek and Denise (Jim) Skarbek; grandchildren, Tasha (Scott) Kunert, Brian (Julie) Blosser, Jeremy (Robin) Blosser, Christopher (Danielle) Blosser, Kimberly (Craig) Harness-Comstock, Kyla Harness, Sara Todd, David Todd, Danielle Todd, Joseph Kozakiewicz, Kelly Kozakiewicz, Adam Skarbek, Elizabeth Skarbek, Alex Skarbek, Melissa (Jonathon) Dickey and Michelle Skarbek; great-grandchildren, Austin Kunert, Alexis Kunert, Ariel Kunert, Alyssan Kunert, Addysion Blosser, Danika Dickey, Rylan Dickey; mother, Josephine (Jamrosy) Skarbek; brother, Jerry (Pat) Skarbek; and by his two sisters, Doloras (Mel) Kulwicki and Carol (Jim) Zalas. Albert was a Mechanical Designer for Abonmarche and Ideal Heating and Plumbing for 30 years. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church where he was a member in the Usher Club. He was a member of the PNA. Albert was an avid gardener and loved his family especially his great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2010 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010 in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association , 1701 Beauregard St. Alexandria, VA 22311.
