Vera Sue (Borkowski) Martin, 64, of North Liberty, passed away peacefully at 1:20 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in her home. She was born December 13, 1957, in La Porte, Indiana to Richard and Sharlene (Ford) Borkowski. Vera's favorite job was being a mom and making her house a home. She was never happier than when she was tinkering around in her numerous flower gardens. Vera exuded empathy and compassion. She loved with her whole heart and her family meant the world to her. Vera enjoyed taking vacations, shopping trips and Olive Garden lunches, with her daughter. From cookie-frosting sessions to trillium tours in the woods, she loved family time. She was brave, courageous and extremely hard-working. Vera was never afraid to do whatever it took to take care of her daughter and her family. She was the world's best hugger and could make your tears melt away. Vera will be truly missed, until we meet again, in Heaven. Surviving are her parents, Richard and Sharlene Borkowski; daughter, best friend and partner in crime, Deborah (Justin) Cummins; sister, Deb (Jim) Levandoski; nephew and nieces, Billy (Jamie) and Emma Buchanan; uncle, Lauren Ford; and good friends, Carol, Ed, and Sue.
