Brent A. DeWispeleare, 63, passed away at 8:32pm on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. Brent was born on January 5, 1959, in South Bend, to Ray and Margaret (Thomas) DeWispeleare. Brent was preceded in death by his father, Ray; half-brother, Camiel Striker; brother-law, Larry Carpenter; and great-nephew, Cameron Snead. Brent is survived by his mother, Margaret; sisters, Laura Carpenter and Pam Blazi; brother, Lonnie DeWispeleare; half-brothers, Greg Striker and Dennis Striker; and several nieces/nephews. Brent worked at LOGAN Center for many years. He enjoyed firetrucks, trains, garage sales, and going to the lake. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at Camp Millhouse and his family. Brent was joyful. His face would light up when a loved one entered the room, and even a stranger’s smile could bring joy to his face. It was a beautiful smile, indeed. And a gentle soul to match. It takes many people to support families with special needs. Whether by occupation or friendship, it takes a village. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to LOGAN Center and Camp Millhouse, and all the individuals that help make those organizations what they are today. In remembrance of Brent, family and friends may gather for a graveside service and burial at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Southlawn Cemetery, 61300 U.S. 31 South, South Bend, IN.
