Feb. 07, 1932 - Aug. 26, 2017
MISHAWAKA - Dolores M. Van Hove, 85, passed away at home on Saturday, August 26, 2017. Dolores was born on February 7, 1932 in Mishawaka as the daughter of the now late Virgil and Elsa (Buyle) Nicolini. On June 15, 1957 in Mishawaka as the former Dolores Nicolini, she married Henry Van Hove; he preceded her in death on February 8, 1999. Surviving are three daughters, Angela (Jeff) Kindig of Mishawaka, Teresa (David) Bailey of South Bend and Diana (David) Vervynckt of South Bend; five grandchildren, Joseph (Amy) Kindig, Jessica (Brad Mitchell) Kindig and Jacquelyn (Brandon) Babb and Hanna (Brian) Cowden and Amanda Vervynckt; great grandchildren, Ian, Dylan and Jackson Kindig, Anna Mitchell, Mason and Elsie Babb, Chase and Waylon Cowden; brother, Joseph (Phyllis) Nicolini and sister, Doris Olvia both of Mishawaka. Dolores was an avid golfer; loved working crossword puzzles. She was one of the first female members of St. Bavo Athletic Association. She coached many winning volley ball teams at St. Bavo. She tried out for the South Bend Blue Sox and made it but had to quit because her father wouldn't let her wear a short skirt. She volunteered at St. Bavo Preschool. The support shown to our mother from our family and friends this past week has helped us know we are not alone in our grief. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Michelle and Bonnie, the nurses from Hospice, who took very special care of Dolores. Cremation will take place. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements. Private graveside service will take place. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544 or the Hospice Foundation Supporting Center for Hospice Care: South Bend-Elkhart-Plymouth, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
