South Bend- Donald E. Chwalek, 69 years old, passed away on Friday July 15, 2022 at his residency. Donald was born on July 23, 1952 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Edward and Esther (Molnar) Chwalek. He has remained a life long resident of South Bend. On September 3, 1988 Donald was united in marriage with Rozalia Vida, who survives. Along with Rose, his loving wife of more than 33 years, Donald is survived by his two children, Edward (Lori) Chwalek of South Bend and Nicole (Rick) Evans of South Bend; Four step-children, Shane Flowers, of South Bend, Dustin Mills of Indianapolis, Derrick Mills who preceded him in death, and David (Elisha) Mills of Walkerton; 15 grandchildren, Marisa, Alexis, Ashley, Mckenzie, Austin, Nick, Dillan, Aleah, David Jr., Leanne, Adrianna, Dakota, Braylee, and Zoey; two great-grandchildren, Princeton and Kohlston; one sister, Michelle (Steve) Vascil; six brother and sister-in-laws, Alex and Debora, Zolie and Gail, and Tezera and Eric; and several nieces and nephews. Donald worked at Bradley and Company where he retired in January of 2019. He belonged to the Saint Joe Young Men’s Society. Donald and Rose owned The Rosies Kaz Bar in South Bend for many years. They enjoyed spending many days socializing with friends and family throughout the years at the Kaz Bar. Don looked forward to cooking and celebrating the big holidays with his family. Everyone knew he was the “Chef” of the family. Donald will be missed by many. Funeral Services will be private for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be donated to Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and should be sent to 824 S. Mayflower Rd. South Bend, Indiana 46619.
