ELKHART - Goldie Marie Magner, 99, of Elkhart, formerly of Dowagiac, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Riverside Village in Elkhart. She was born April 13, 1912 in Marshall County, IN to William and Ethel (O'Connor) Cooper. She married Albert Magner on December 22, 1929 in South Bend. He preceded her in death in April 18, 1986. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Carla Sue Zimmer, Mary Zablocki, and Betty Schmucker; one sister, Thelma McNabb; and two brothers, William Cooper and Alvin Cooper. She was a member of South Wayne Community Church in Dowagiac and Coulter's Chapel Church of God in Niles. Marie is survived by five daughters, Helen Parsons of Edwardsburg, Gloria Woodruff of Lawton, Sandra Dash of Hartford, Judy (James) Zimmerman of Dowagiac, Trudy (John) Dudley of Dowagiac; two sons, Jack (Nancy) Magner of Elkhart, and Arley "Bud" (Jane) Magner of Edwardsburg; one sister, Edith Tucker of Plymouth; 43 grandchildren, and numerous great and great great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis, with Pastor Bill Zebell officiating. Interment will follow in South Wayne Cemetery, Dowagiac. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Riverside Village, 1400 West Franklin Street, Elkhart, Indiana 46516, or Center for Hospice Care, 22579 Old US 20 East, Elkhart, Indiana 46516.
